The OCP Varsity Softball hosts their first FHSAA Regional Quarterfinals contest as district champions against (Ocoee) Legacy Charter on Wednesday May 5, 2021, 4:30 pm at Azalea Park Little League softball field.
The Lady Warriors (15-7) take on the district 5 runner-up for the third time this season. OCP defeated the Eagles twice by a combined score of 23 -1. In the last meeting on April 1, sophomore Grace Thomas and freshman Aracelis Jimenez combined to pitch a no-hit shutout, with three walks and 11 strikeouts in seven innings. Freshman Naya Rosario went 3-for-3 in 4 plate appearances, scoring four times with 3 RBI. Rosario walked, doubled, tripled and hit a home run. Freshman Lexi Perez went 3-for-4 with 3 RBI and one run scored while stealing four bases.
Admission is $7.00. Gate will be open to fans one hour before game time. Temperature checks will be administered. Only FHSAA State Series Passes will be accepted. The game will be played at Azalea Park Little League, home field for Warriors Softball (1 Carol Ave. Orlando 32807).
The winner of this game advances to the Regional Semifinals against the winner of Trinity Christian Academy at Mt. Dora Christian Academy on May 11. The FHSAA Class 2A State Semifinals and Finals will be held in Clermont on May 18 and 19, respectively.
