7th Win of Season Comes with Thanks to Seniors and an old friend

October 29, 2021 - ORLANDO

OCP Warriors won their 7th consecutive game of the season on Senior Night with a 55-3 victory over Trinity Prep.  It is the last regular season scheduled game for the six members of the class of 2022 and their families, but there is a possibility that OCP may host a playoff game given their first-place ranking in Class 2A Region 2, according to MaxPreps.com.

Seven different Warriors found their way into the endzone on this evening led by sophomore receiver/defensive back/returner Demarion Jenkins, who caught one of junior quarterback Vilay Nakkoun's three touchdown passes, and had a 55-yard punt return for a score from midfield.

The highlight of the night may have come from sophomore Joshua Demosthenes, who closed on a pass toward the Saints sideline for an interception and 30-yard return for a touchdown. Demosthenes led the team with five tackles on defense.

Great Sendoff for the Seniors

The winningest class in the history of OCP Football has been a part three SSAC State Championship games and won two titles over their four-year high school career.  The class of six players is a mix of those that have experienced that run, and those that are helping to lead the program into their first FHSAA Class 2A playoffs, which begin November 12.

Seniors Curtis Kimmons, Jamel Lynch, Jayden Simmons, Grant Overby, Knykolas Ross, and Donovan Cordes were introduced prior to the start of the game, along with their family, and each took time to express their thanks to the special people in their life for all they did for them over the years.

From Curtis Kimmons: (I) would like to give a special thanks to (my) teachers, the coaches (I) had throughout (my) life and to one of the dearest things to (my) heart, (my) little brother and sister. One More Special Thanks

The OCP football program took a moment before kickoff to also give thanks to former head football coach and current Trinity Prep athletic director, Dave Langdon, for his contributions and guidance in helping to start the football program at OCP back in 2010.

Current head football coach Guerschom Demosthenes was a former player of Langdon's back in the mid-90s and became his defensive coordinator at Pine Castle Christian Academy and later at OCP. Demosthenes took over the head coaching duties in 2013.
