Largest 1st Quarter output of season leads to shutout win

Apopka, FL --

OCP Football scored 38 first quarter points, which included a special teams fumble recovery touchdown off a kickoff, on their way to a 58-0 win over the West Oaks Academy Flames.

Offensively, the Warriors gained 294 total yards and six touchdowns from five different players - Demarion Jenkins (22 yards), Brian Thomas (9 yards and 21 yard rec), Jayden Alberty (48 yards), Bradley Knight (9 yard rec), Akeeven Anderson (20 yards). 

OCP quarterbacks combined to go 13-19, 137 yards, 2 touchdowns and an INT. Makai Elder was 9-12, 112 yards, 1 TD and an INT, and Vilay Nakkoun was 4-7, 25 yards, 1 TD.

Defense and special teams played their part in the victory as the OCP defense held the Flames to 50 yards of total offense, gained 5 turnovers (3 INT, 2 FR), along with a defensive and special teams touchdown by Avery Anderson and Yadriel Garcia, respectively.

OCP improved to 4-4 on the season. In the four wins, OCP has scored 50-plus points in 3 of those game, averaging 49 points per game. Defensively, they've recorded two shutouts and allowed an average of 5.25 points per game.

The Warriors will travel to Trinity Prep School (Winter Park) on Friday October 28 for their final district game of the regular season. With a win, OCP will win their first FHSAA district championship and possibly host a playoff game in the FHSAA Class 1M Region 2 playoffs.
