Congratulations to junior Isaiah Brown and head boys basketball coach Treig Burke for earning the Florida Athletic Coaches Association (FACA) District 11 Class 2A Player of the Year and Coach of the Year for the 2022-23 season.

Brown leads the Warriors in scoring with an average of 18.6 points per game as he scored a game-high 16 points to lead OCP to their 7th consecutive Regional Championship under Coach Burke in a 62-41 win over Victory Christian on Feb. 24.

The 3rd-year varsity player has shot 57.8% from the field, 38.7% from 3-pt range and 80.4% at the free-throw line.  Additionally, he has averaged 5.7 rebounds per game, 1.8 assist per game and one steal per game. He also set the OCP Boys Basketball single-game scoring record with a 45-point performance in the championship of the Winter Park Rotary Tip-Off Classic against Olympia HS, which also tied the tournament record for most point in the championship game.

Coach Burke is no stranger to this recognition by the FACA as he has been been the FACA district coach of the year in 2017, 2018, and consecutively from 2020 - 2022.  OCP has won five FHSAA state championships under Coach Burke's leadership (2017, 2018, 2020, 2021, 2022) and will seek their fourth consecutive championship and sixth in the last seven year this season.
