Senior Grace Thomas throws a perfect game with 11 strikeouts in debut
Senior Grace Thomas pitched a perfect game with 11 strikeouts in 5 innings as the OCP softball team opened the 2023 season with a 12-0 victory over University (Orlando) HS.
Thomas also was 2-for-3 at the plate with 2 RBI, 2 runs scored, and 2 stolen bases.
In her OCP Softball debut, senior Genesis Iglesias-Rosa went 2-for-2 with a home run, double and 3 RBI in the leadoff position for the Lady Warriors. Classmate Carlee Cruz added a double, RBI and scored a run.
OCP had a total of 9 hits and drew 4 walks as a total of 9 players reached base.
The Lady Warriors will be looking to build on last year's 20-win season and second consecutive trip to the FHSAA Regional Semifinals.
