Orlando Christian Prep was the wire to wire Class 3A number one team in the state of Florida for the second year in a row. . On Wednesday in front of hundreds of OCP warrior fans the 2018 team capped a great season winning the Class 3A state title for the second time in a row.
This marks the 7th state championship for the Boys basketball program since 2008. Head Coach Treig Burke has been a part of all previous state championships, the past two as head coach. Coach Burke along with assistant coaches Tim Thomas and LaRance Baker took this team to a 21-9 record this season. A brutal national schedule prepared this team for their run to Lakeland.
The future is bright for OCP basketball. Their JV team finished 17-3 this season. The 8th grade team was 10-3 and the 6th grade team was 10-0. Let's not forget about the girls varsity team who finished as Class 3A State runner up. "I am excited for our entire school and athletic program, our students work so hard both in the classroom and on the practice court. They deserve this." said Coach Burke
