OPENING WORDS BY COACH BURKE:

The purpose of (our Awards Night) is to honor our students for another successful year. Before we begin I would like to take a moment to thank everyone both directly and indirectly involved in our school’s success.

Thank you Pastor Dustin Janney, Mrs. Jacobson, and the entire school staff.  Their support for Orlando Christian Prep is paramount to our success.

Another huge thank you goes out to you, the parents.  Your decision to place your child in our school, as well as your support, and the atmosphere you create at our games, fine arts events, and school functions is Amazing. Your support is definitely instrumental to our school.

Our volunteers, whether you helped cleanup after a game, work the gate, the chain crew, make a team meal, donate items for a bake sale, or chaperone field trips, we appreciate you and your time.

Special thanks to Bob Kennedy and Ms. Kathie Rehm for all of your continued help and support.

A HUGE thank you to the student-athletes. Thank you to all the administrators, teachers, faculty and staff for their commitment to our students, without all of you none of this would be possible.

A SPECIAL THANK YOU to all of the coaches for all their time, effort, hard work, and dedication. Your commitment to serving and investing in these young men and women through athletics is invaluable and such a blessing.

- Coach Treig Burke,
Orlando Christian Prep Athletic Director

The first day of May beings the quest for a district championship for OCP Baseball and Softball team.  Both teams will compete in the FHSAA Class 2A District 7 tournament, but from different vantage points.

OCP Softball is the top seed in the 7-team tournament after finishing the regular season 14-1, earning an opening round bye to the semifinals where they will face the winners of Monday night's contest between (4) Foundation Academy and (5) Orangewood Christian.

OCP Baseball is the 5-seed in the 6-team tournament after finishing the regular season 6-5-1. They will play in the Quarterfinal round on Monday May 1 against Legacy Charter (6-10) at 6 pm.  The Warriors previously played their opponent from Ocoee back on March 2, losing 18-7.

The Warriors' two-game winning streak has been slowed with back-to-back rain cancellations and postponements to end the regular season.

Monday Night's game will be played at Bob Sorenson Field, 1755 Adair Street, Ocoee, FL 34761. Admission is $6, cash only.  The winner will advance to the semifinals where they will meet top-seeded The First Academy (TFA) at their ballpark on Tuesday May 2, first pitch set for 6 pm.

All games for the Lady Warriors in the softball district tournament will be played at Cornerstone Charter Academy, 906 Waltham Avenue, Belle Isle, FL 32809. Admission is $6 and tickets can be purchased on GoFan.co.

Among the two potential opponents in the semifinals, OCP has played Foundation Academy (10-8) twice, defeating them 7-6 in both games. They have did not play any other teams in district including 2-seed Cornerstone Charter Academy (16-7).

OCP Softball is ranked 4th in the final regular season FHSAA Class 2A rankings, the highest season rankings in the history of the program.  Cornerstone is ranked 6th.  OCP and Cornerstone are ranked as the top 2 teams in the district and region.
