Warriors Take The Coasts By Storm

OCP Football Dominates From the Gulf to the Atlantic

OCP scored a season-high points in a quarter, half and game on their most recent trip to Melbourne as they defeated Melbourne Central Catholic 63-14 on Friday night. 

It was the second consecutive dominate performance on both sides of the ball for the Warriors (3-1), who defeated Seffner Christian (Tampa) the previous week 48-8. OCP has traveled nearly 148 miles from the Bay to the Atlantic and scored 111 points, while allowing just 22 points.

The Warriors only ran 25 plays and possessed the ball 11:42 against MCC. Senior Curtis Kimmons rushed four times for 157 yards with two touchdowns from 45 and 80 yards. Junior quarterback Vilay Nikkoun was 6-for-11 with four touchdowns - two to Sophomore Demarion Jenkins from 15 and 35 yards, one to Junior Cooper Cadorette from 20 yards and a 32-yard completion to Kimmons for his third score of the game. Junior Brian Thomas found the enzone twice with rushing touchdowns of 33 and 11 yards.

During a shortened second half, Sophomore Gadiahwan Louis closed out the scoring with a 65-yard touchdown run. The Warriors closed the night with 331 of their 461 total yards on the ground.

Opening Kickoff Return Stuns Ranked Opponent


A week prior to Friday's win against MCC, the Warriors traveled to Tampa for a matchup against 2A Top-10 ranked Seffner Christian.

Jenkins took the opening kickoff of the game 85 yards for a touchdown that would spark a 28-0 first half lead and a 40-point victory for OCP. Junior running back Zhyan Karioki rushed 15 times for 163 yards and two touchdowns (1, 30). Nakkoun passed for 154 yards and three touchdowns on seven completions in 15 attempts.

Warriors Ranked in State and Local Polls


After the MCC win OCP finds themselves ranked 9th in MaxPreps.com FHSAA 2A State Rankings and 2nd in their 2A Region Rankings.

WDBO Orlando's News & Talk (home to 107.3 FM and 580 AM) and the Varsity Sports Network ranks OCP fourth on their 5-team Private School Top 5 Ranking.

Rescheduled Matchup with Wildwood Next Up On Friday


The Warriors were scheduled to play the Wildcats to open the regular season on September 3rd, but the game had to be postponed and moved to an open date of October 8th that fit on both teams schedule.

Wildwood (3-1) will be coming off their first loss of the season, 23-8 to Trinity Catholic (Ocala).  MaxPreps.com has Wildwood ranked 5th overall in Class 1A and first in their region.

Both teams enter the contest with similar scoring totals that illustrates their offensive production and defensive stoutness.  Wildwood has scored 138 points in four games (34.5 ppg), while OCP has scored 131 points in four games (32.75 ppg).  Defensively, the Wildcats have allowed 38 points (9.5 per game) and the Warriors have allowed 45 points (11.25 per game).
