February 11, 2022 --

OCP Warriors won their 6th consecutive district championship with a 68-21 victory over host City of Life Christian Academy in Kissimmee, Fla.  OCP jumped out to a 18-2 first quarter lead with their smothering man-to-man defense and transition offense, never looking back at their opponent desperately trying to get shots to fall.

COLCA managed to score 10 points in the 2nd quarter as the Warriors of OCP (21-4) grew the lead at the half to 36-12. By the end of the 3rd quarter, the score was 58-19 and the final eight minutes were played with the running-clock rule once the margin reached 35 points or more.

Seniors AJ Brown and Ven-Allen Lubin contributed 18 points each in the victory. For the senior captains, it was their fourth consecutive district championship since being members of the varsity team as freshmen. Sophomore point guard Ameer Ramadan contributed 8 points and 8 assists, which featured a beautiful lob in transition to Hasani Rivera who soared high above the rim for a 2-handed slam.

Ranked No.1 in Class 2A and 1-seed in Region 2, OCP will host a regional quarterfinal game on Thursday February 17 against 8th-seeded Faith Christian Academy. Tip is scheduled for 7pm. Admission is $7.
