Three OCP football players earned All-Area and All-State honors from local and statewide media outlets for their performance this past fall as OCP won its first regional championship and advanced to the Class 2A state semifinals.

Senior linebacker Mel Lynch, senior offensive lineman Donovan Cordes and sophomore defensive back Demarion Jenkins were first recognized on The Orlando Sentinel Varsity all-area small schools football team on January 14, 2022.

One month later, the three were selected to FloridaHSFootball.com's 2021 Class 2A All-State Football Team. Cordes selected to first team offense, with Lynch and Jenkins named to the first team defense.  In addition to those first team honors, junior quarterback Vilay Nakkoun and offensive lineman Valentino Garcia were named to the second team offense.

The Orlando Sentinel list includes players competing in the FHSAA’s 2A through 4A classifications, the Sunshine State Athletic Conference, and the Florida Independent High School Athletic Association.

The Sentinel Varsity small schools team was compiled by Orlando Sentinel staff in consultation with area coaches in Orange, Seminole, Lake and southwest Volusia counties.

The 2021 Class 2A All-State Football Teams compiled by FloridaHSFotball.com Founder & Publisher Joshua Wilson along with the consideration of nominations received from coaches, the Florida Athletic Coaches Association (FACA), statistics on MaxPreps, and consultation of all-area/all-county teams as published by various media outlets from around the state. Nominations, statistics, and strength of schedule were considered as the primary factors for selection to the All-State teams.

Congratulations Donovan, Mel, Demarion, Vilay and Valentino!
