Softball team scores double-digit runs for 6th game; shuts out 4th opponent

Sophomore Mia Rosario shut down Trinity Prep, throwing a complete game shutout and leading Orlando Christian Prep Varsity Warriors to a 10-0 victory on Tuesday

OCP (6-0) got things moving in the first inning when sophomore Lexi Perez got a RBI single in her first at-bat..

The Warriors scored four runs in the fourth inning.  Sophomore Aracelis Jimenez and Perez each had RBIs in the frame.

A single by Trinity Prep's Abigail Thompson in the fifth inning broke up a no-hitter being thrown by Rosario.

Rosario was credited with the victory, her third victory in three appearances. The sophomore lasted five innings, allowing one hit and zero runs while striking out 11.

McKenna Hawley took the loss for Trinity Prep. Hawley went four and two-thirds innings, allowing ten runs on eight hits, striking out ten and walking one.

OCP hit one home run on the day. Perez went yard in the fourth inning for the fourth time on the young season. She also has a team-high 11 RBIs and a 0.786 batting average.

The Warriors tallied eight hits in the ballgame.  Perez and Jimenez each collected multiple hits for the Lady Warriors.  Jimenez and Perez all had two hits to lead the Warriors.  OCP stole eight bases during the game as two players stole more than one. Jimenez led the way with four to increase her season total to 16.

OCP travels to Ocoee to take on district-rival Legacy Charter on Thursday and then heads to East River on Friday to close the week.
