ORLANDO --
After three weeks on the road, the Warriors played their first home football game of the season against Windermere Prep and found the results as satisfying as being on the road.
Behind 217 yards rushing on the ground and a defensive effort that held the Lakers to under 90 yards of total offense, OCP shut out Windermere Prep 28-0 to improve to 3-0 this season.
Sophomore Akeevan Anderson scored two touchdowns (rushing and receiving) while rushing for 94 yards on six carries, along with two receptions for 17 yards. Junior Avery Anderson rushed for 92 yards on 12 carries and caught 2 passes for 66 yards.
OCP used two quarterbacks in the game. Junior Cameron Kurzon started and played primarily in the first half. He was 5-10, 99 yards with two passing touchdowns. Freshman Alec Worden scored a rushing touchdown in the 4th quarter to finish off the scoring.
Defensively, sophomore Brayden Schuster had a team-high 5.5 tackles and senior Darius Richardson had 4.5 tackles with one interception. in the endzone during the 4th quarter to preserve a shutout.
Sophomore "IV" Dennison returned four punts for a total of 111 yards, mostly in the second half, which gave OCP a great field position advantage.
The Warriors will host Foundation Academy next week for their first district contest of the season. OCP was the district champion in 2022.
